New Maroon Camp organizers host âRocking Chairsâ event featuring MSU legends Feb. 26

STARKVILLE, Miss.âMississippi ´ķĪķAPPâs New Maroon Camp is hosting an evening âfull of nostalgia and laughterâ next week featuring MSU legends reminiscing about university traditions and history.
âRocking Chairs 2025â will be held at Lee Hallâs Bettersworth Auditorium, Wednesday [Feb. 26] at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to all but seats can be reserved by RSVP at .
Among multiple Bulldog âlegendsâ participating in a panel discussion are retired MSU Interim President and longtime Student Affairs administrator Roy Ruby; retired Associate Dean of Students Eddie Keith; former Student Association President Travis Clark; retired MSU Womenâs Basketball Coach Sharon Fanning; and current MSU Executive Director of Student-Athlete Development Ann Carr, among others. They will discuss the meaning behind New Maroon Camp and share many MSU stories and experiences. Current students, alumni and community members are invited.
The original Rocking Chairs event was held in 2015 with New Maroon Camp staff giving information and advice about MSU traditions and college life. Organizers decided to bring back the event and expand the speakers and audience.
Parking is available at Old Main Academic Center, 395 Hardy Road, and the parking lot adjacent to Lee Hall, 262 Lee Blvd.
