Numerous MSU events set for Women鈥檚 History Month

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擬ississippi 大象APP will celebrate Women鈥檚 History Month throughout March with a variety of events, including presentations on and discussions about important women鈥檚 issues and numerous networking and community-building activities.

The first of three Women鈥檚 Health Luncheon Series events kicks off the month with a discussion on the history of women鈥檚 health care beginning March 1 at 11:30 a.m. in Mitchell Memorial Library鈥檚 John Grisham Room. Two other luncheons鈥擬arch 8鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淗ealthcare for the Whole Woman,鈥 and 鈥淢edical Care as Self-Care鈥 on March 22鈥攁re scheduled for the same time and location later this month. Sports fans can cheer on the Bulldog women鈥檚 teams all month with free admission to games and matches. Events include March 3 tennis matches against the University of Kentucky; softball games during the March 3-5 Alex Wilcox Memorial Weekend and the March 9-12 Bulldog Invitational; and track and field鈥檚 Bulldog Relays, scheduled for March 23-25. The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion will present 鈥淥ur Voice, Our Insights: A Panel on Empowering Women鈥 March 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall鈥檚 Coskrey Auditorium. The panel will feature distinguished women from different roles sharing their experiences and insights on encouraging, promoting and supporting women. Visit to register. Join the Division of Access, Diversity and Inclusion March 21 at 10 a.m. in the Colvard Student Union Dawg House for 鈥淧ainting with a Colleague,鈥 an activities-based event that will foster relationships, stimulate creativity and encourage a healthy work-life balance. The Women鈥檚 History Month tribute 鈥淵ou Are Appreciated, We Are Inspired鈥 will be held March 23 at 11 a.m. on the Drill Field, where attendees may write letters of appreciation to women faculty, staff and friends who have helped, inspired and supported them during their time at MSU. Sponsored by the offices of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Survivor Support, the event鈥檚 rain location is the Union鈥檚 first floor.

The annual Women鈥檚 Empowerment Brunch will be held March 25 at noon at the Bost Extension Center. Hosted by I.D.E.A.L. Woman, the event鈥檚 theme is 鈥淏uilding Our Future鈥 and will feature inspirational speakers, networking opportunities and great food. Visit to register.
