MPB airing MSU Filmsâ âHungriest ´ķĪķAPPâ this summer
STARKVILLE, Miss.âMississippi Public Broadcasting will air Mississippi ´ķĪķAPP Filmsâ award-winning miniseries âThe Hungriest ´ķĪķAPPâ this summer.
Each episode of the four-part series will be played multiple times across July and August, with varying start times to accommodate audiences.
âThe Hungriest ´ķĪķAPPâ examines food insecurity in Mississippi, highlighting different perceptions, causes, impacts and solutions to one of the critical issues facing the Magnolia ´ķĪķAPP. Through several stories, the series shows the essential nature of food security at the individual and community levels and the passion of people working to address the inequities that cause food insecurity.
The series garnered national acclaim when its first episode, âThe Last Supermarketâ won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2021. Most recently, two episodes â âThe Domino Effectâ and âThe Fisherfolkâ â won Southeast Emmy awards in June.
