STARKVILLE, Miss.—Eye-catching astronomical and scientific illustrations will be on display Jan. 24-Feb. 28 at Mississippi ´ķĪķAPP’s Mitchell Memorial Library.

Free to all, the exhibition in the third-floor John Grisham Room features images by renowned space science artist and educator Edwin Faughn, as well as astrophotographers Fred Howell, Bill Kennedy, Jon Talbot, David Teske and Stephen Winkler.

A native of Paragould, Arkansas, Faughn holds a bachelor’s in graphic design from Arkansas ´ķĪķAPP University. He currently serves as director of Rainwater Observatory and Planetarium in French Camp, one of the Southeast’s largest observatories. He previously served nearly 17 years as artist-photographer for Sharpe Planetarium (formerly Pink Palace Planetarium) in Memphis, Tennessee.

Faughn’s work has been featured in various space science publications, as well as in national and international exhibitions. For more biographical information, visit .

On Tuesday [Jan. 24], a 7 p.m. exhibit opening reception and “Reflections of the Universe” presentation by Faughn will be held in the Grisham Room. All are welcome to enjoy complimentary refreshments, view works on display and visit with Faughn.

The Grisham Room is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Groups can arrange exhibit tours by calling 662-325-2506.
