STARKVILLE, Miss.âA top ´ķĪķAPP administrator has been elected to serve on the Association of Public Land-Grant Universitiesâ Council on Student Affairs Executive Committee.
Regina Young Hyatt, MSU vice president for Student Affairs, will serve a three-year term on the CSA, an APLU operational council. Composed of chief student affairs or student life officers at member institutions and university systems, the CSA provides forums for discussion and dissemination of information on issues related to the college student experience. The group works to enhance institutional effectiveness and the student experience in these areas.
âTo have an opportunity to contribute to the student affairs profession at institutions that are like ´ķĪķAPP and to learn from my outstanding colleagues around the U.S. is truly exciting,â Hyatt said. âAs higher education continues to evolve, the Council on Student Affairs is helping to provide leadership for the changing landscape, and I am honored to be a part of that.â
During her term, Hyatt will assist with the oversite of CSA activities, as well as help organize sessions, meetings and other activities held during the APLU annual meeting and summer forum. Executive committee members also assist the APLU CSA liaison with outreach and engagement efforts for new CSA members.
At MSU, Hyatt provides leadership for the Division of Student Affairs, which is comprised of 21 departments focusing on student life and engagement; student health, safety and wellness; student support programs; and student success. She additionally serves as a member of the Presidentâs Cabinet.
