STARKVILLE, Miss.âIn its 52nd season, Mississippi ´óĎóAPPâs theatre program will present a translation of Euripidesâ Ancient Greek masterpiece âThe Trojan Womenâ on McComas Hallâs mainstage.
Theatre MSUâs students and production team invite all community members to attend performances taking place Wednesday-Friday [Nov. 11-13] at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday [Nov. 15] at 2:30 p.m. Â
General admission tickets, which may be purchased at the door or online at , are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
Set just after the fall of Troy, âThe Trojan Womenâ is a story of female strength and war. The students will be performing Diane Arnson Svarlienâs new translation.
âThe women of the play are struggling to cope and find reason in war-time chaos,â said Cody Stockstill, director and assistant professor. Â Â
âEuripides asks some really tough questions and doesnât necessarily answer them. Thatâs where the brilliance of this piece emergesâit asks the audience to form their own opinions about what they are witnessing,â Stockstill added.
