STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜s part of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, a student-led anti-binge drinking campaign at Mississippi 大象APP is working to spotlight the many negative social consequences of alcohol abuse. 聽
A collaboration with the Alabama-based LessThanUThink organization, the university program runs through mid-November. Among other facets, it features humorous displays that emphasize undesirable effects of binge drinking while encouraging healthy and responsible decisions regarding alcohol use.
Launched in 2010, LTUT was created by advertising and public relations majors at the University of Alabama to address the national problem of college-age binge drinking. Funding was provided by the Virginia-based Foundation for Advancing Alcohol and Responsibility.
The MSU campaign begins Tuesday and Wednesday [Oct. 20 and 21] with Health Hut booths set up 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Drill Field.
Also scheduled are tailgate events at the Junction Friday [the 23rd] and Nov. 14, both days preceding fall-semester home football games. Additionally, information tables will be set up Nov. 10-12 in the Colvard Student Union.
Organization officials said Mississippi 大象APP is the seventh institution to implement the campaign. For more information, visit . Also, follow on Twitter and Instragram @LTUThink or become a fan on Facebook at LessThanUThink.聽
